Advice to Pedestrians and Motorists
To the cyclist when walking along or crossing cycle routes:
Cycling Advice On segregated tracks, pedestrians should keep to the area reserved for them
Cycling Advice To avoid collision and conflict, pedestrians should not walk on tracks marked "Cycle Only".

Although this leaflet is designed for the cyclist, motorists should also be made aware of their responsibilities to other road users, especially cyclists.

Motorist’s responsibilities are:

Cycling Advice To be aware of the movements of cyclists at junctions when emerging onto the highway.
Cycling Advice To recognise that cyclists are unprotected and hence vulnerable to accidents, therefore their rights to be on the road must be observed.
Cycling Advice To be aware of cyclists when turning left or right.
Cycling Advice Always give cyclists more time and room when in front of your vehicle. Do not harass them by the use of your horn, and do not force them off the road or cut them up when overtaking on narrow roads.
Cycling Advice Look out for cyclists when opening car doors.
